Elements and Principles of Design Slideshow

I  had a wonderful time with this project, especially going to various places searching out the different elements and principles.  My pictures were taken over the last week at the following locations;  Toronto, Canalside in Buffalo, Allentown Art Fest, West Side of Buffalo, Niagara County Produce and the Frank Lloyd Wright Fontana Boat House. I used my iPhone 4 to capture all my shots. The hardest part I had was selecting my photos.  Thus why Im posting this at the last possible second.  I hope you all enjoy!  Can't wait to see everyone elses!

  1. I really like your line photo and your color photo was amazing I seen purple, violet, yellow and blue at a first glimpse you see purple but if you really look at it you can see the beautiful colors. Wow, I really like you emphasis photo, what is it? It’s like you look at it and you see the purple leaves but you eye suddenly focus on the blue parts and then the middle. I also like you balance photo it shows the light and the dark which is pretty cool and I like sunsets. Your photos were amazing and I really liked them. they show all the elements and principle of design.

    1. Thank you so much! That means a lot, its nice to hear such positive feedback. The emphasis shot is a picture of a passion flower. That was the first time seeing that flower myself, I took the flower and contrast shots at Niagara County Produce. Its a great nursery and food market. The balance shot was taken at a new park on Buffalo's waterfront called Wilkenson's Point. It's my new fav spot.

  2. I really like you line photo because if you payed close attention there were several other lines involved as well. The contrast picture was my favorite element that you portrayed because it jumps out of the screen on sight. The blue fish just demands the viewer's attention and the supporting background aids it.

    1. Awesome Carl, Im glad you picked up on the many different lines in that photo. I am very happy with the way the contrast shot came out. I did take several photos to get just the right balance in the picture. Also I had to move a couple of the watering cans around so you couldnt see the pricetags. ;)

    1. Thanks for the feedback! That piece is located in Buffalo, NY on building on the corner of Grant and Amherst Streets. Not far from Buffalo State. Are you from the area?

  4. Diana, thank you for the comments on my postings. I thought your photos were fantastic. The color, and the texture photos were my favorite, you can almost feel the rough straw through that photo, great job! I also loved the fact that all of the photos had a summer-like feel to them, especially your line photo, color, shape, form, emphasis, and proportion photos.
